How long does an AAHT certificate last?
An AAHT certificate is valid for two years. Before it expires, you'll need to renew it to keep your credentials active — no exam required for renewal. See our Re-Certification page to get started.
When will I receive my certificate?
Upon passing your exam, you'll receive your certificate of completion within 10 business days.
How do I get a study guide?
Official AAHT study guides are available for each certification program and can be downloaded as a PDF for immediate use. Visit the certification page for the program you're interested in.
What do I need to do to become AAHT certified?
First, create a Technician profile. Then you can register for the exam in the certification program you'd like to earn. To prepare, you can purchase the official study guide for that program before your exam.
Where can I take my certification test?
You must take your exam at the school you attended, another school in your area, an AAHT testing facility, or at your place of employment — upon approval by an AAHT associate. Exams cannot be taken at home.
When am I eligible to take a test?
You're eligible once you've completed the graduation requirements of an approved medical program in the state where you took the course.
How long is an exam?
Each exam consists of sixty (60) multiple-choice questions, with a time limit of one hundred twenty (120) minutes.
When will I get my test results?
